In week 10, we will present our magazine drafts in Making Media class. I got a bit confused in scheduling the process of it due to the similar extensive workloads for the other courses. In the beginning, I thought that just collecting photos and finding the right layout, that's almost 50% of the task would be complete. However, there were a lot of struggles in the process of completing this draft and I will share it all with you, my lovely viewers.
The first thing is to plan all the tasks that need to be done on paper. Cooking healthy food, taking pictures, editing photos, finding layouts for the magazine, collecting all the images. These were the main tasks that I needed to do. Starting with cooking and photographing those healthy dishes. This task seems simple and interesting for those who love food and collect food collections, including me. But there was one thing I realized: After finishing cooking, I was tired and gradually lost interest in photographing those dishes. I did not understand where this negative energy came from which greatly affected the schedule that I have planned.

After taking about 5-6 hours to regain energy and find inspiration, I started editing all the photos. I filtered suitable and well-lit photos to save time on this process because I found that photo editing did not belong to me. After struggling for about 4 hours, I selected 10 photos that were appropriate and acceptable. “Wow, 4 hours for 10 photos, sounds ridiculous, but for me it’s an accomplishment!”
The next job is to find a catchy layout for the magazine. This job seems to be simple but with an indecisive person like me, this job was a challenge. I found different free templates on the website “Lucidpress” and downloaded it. After about an hour, I chose a pastel cream color layout for my magazine because it matched the tones of the photos which I edited earlier.

I downloaded InDesign and started by integrating the template and images into the magazine. However, all the trouble started here when my InDesign software was infected with Virus. I decided to switch to Edit on Canva. Anyway, this is just a magazine draft so I don't put a lot of emphasis on perfection because I still have time to edit. Fortunately, after about 8 hours, I was able to release the magazine draft. Although I know it has many mistakes, but I feel satisfied that I did try my best…….
Let’s take a long rest after over pushing myself !
