Week 4 began with the official announcement from the school that we would continue to study online until week 6. I did not enjoy this at all, but because the number of Covid cases has been increasing overwhelmingly from 4000-7000 people. Therefore, online learning is the most effective solution at this moment.
In this fourth week, Portfolio online website drafts were released. All the official websites were actually appealing, eye-catching, and clearly indicate the individual characteristic. Several students typically chose simplification style, the others focused on muted colors or flat web design, etc. Thanks to the significant differences, it contributed to the enthusiastic and lively atmosphere of the class. After each individual website was presented, there was a short time for personal feedback base on classmate’s judgment. According to my feedback, people commented that my private website had beautiful pastel template colors, but lacks personal images. I completely agreed because I am not the one who tends to show many personal pictures on social platforms, simply because it makes me feel uncomfortable. However, I will reconsider this comment and try to instantly update a few more personal photos because this is a portfolio website and everybody also want to understand and insight more about myself.

Furthermore, I had to thank the lesson on that day because it enhanced my ideas and inspiration to further improved my own website after overviewing all of my classmate’s digital platform. For example, there were various websites that contained a unique template, decorations, or websites that contain stunning designed layouts. In addition, I also realized the importance and benefits of retaining a digital portfolio. Having a personal website will increase my critical skills such as, ordering, planning, selecting, reflecting, and designing content, which is required in the workforce. In the long run, this essential factor will give me more opportunities in getting jobs or careers.
To conclude, during the weekends, I had a virtual meeting with my teammates for audio podcast recording, because the podcast final version has to submit in week 6. So, my teammates and I needed to practice frequently to achieve the effective sound record quality. Moreover, we needed to revise the podcast script due to the limitation of the podcast’ length and ready for the audio editing process.
That is pretty much about my Making Media Class in week 4. A busy week but full of creative ideas and incentive. What about you guys? How was your previous week?
